Who is Jonathan?
Jonathan is an award winning performer, writer and comedian. He also directs shows, workshops and courses.
You might know Jonathan from his BBC Radio 4 Comedy Series (which recently won Best Radio Sketch Show at the British Comedy Guide Awards) or from his directing work (Lorna Rose Treen, Joe Kent-Walters is Frankie Monroe) or perhaps from his series of viral videos. He's due to appear in 3 episodes of a Disney + Series airing Spring 2025, and is filming an independent film through May 2025, as well as working on series 2 of Time of the Week.
Jonathan is a BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2024, was second place winner at the Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off, a finalist in the Musical Comedy Awards 2024, a finalist in the BBC Carleton Hobbs Award and winner of the Patricia Routledge Award. He was a Mandy Monologue Competition Finalist and winner of the Newton Blick Award. He is a Pleasance Theatre Associate Artist 2024-26.
Jonathan is heading up to Edinburgh Fringe 2025. He's performing in, and co-directing , Kanpur 1857 by Niall Moorjani at Pleasance Courtyard (winner of the Charlie Hartill Trust). He is directing 4 new comedy shows from Lorna Rose Treen, Joe Kent Walters, Lucy Pearman and Alice Cockayne.
Jonathan is based in London and works across comedy, theatre, film/tv and radio.
Jonathan trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, with John Yorke Storytelling and has a First Class double distinction MA(Hons) in Spanish and Italian from The University of Edinburgh.
Jonathan is trilingual and was raised as a 'third culture kid' across South America, Asia and Europe before moving back to the UK .

Voiceover/Radio credits include: Time of the Week (BBC Radio 4) Hanna (Amazon Prime), White Lines (Netflix) and Endeavour (ITV).
Jonathan directs comedy shows. He directed Joe Kent Walters is Frankie Monroe: Live!!! which won the Best Newcomer Award at Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Awards 2024 and was winner of Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2024. He directed the multi-award winning Lorna Rose Treen: Skin Pigeon, which was named 3rd best comedy show of 2023 in The Telegraph and was winner of the Dave Best Joke of the Fringe 2023.
Jonathan writes and is co-creator of BBC Radio 4's character comedy series Time of the Week starring Sian Clifford "pitch-perfect satire" (The Guardian). His storytelling show One Way Mirror was nominated for an OffFest Award, and was winner of the Brighton Fringe Trapeze Media Bursary. He has written and appeared in multiple viral videos for social media; with millions of views across TikTok and Instagram. He currently has original ideas in development with Brock Media, Greenacre Films and DLT Entertainment,
Jonathan teaches in the UK and internationally. He runs the Character Comedy Lab at Soho Theatre and also works at places like; Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Q Factory (Amsterdam), Scottish Storytelling Centre (Edinburgh), the BBC and as a visiting lecturer across universities in the United States (Rice University Texas, John Carroll University Ohio, University of Notre Dame Indiana, Kansas State University and others).
